HOME INSURANCE

The United States cover a vast variety of terrains and climates but regardless of where your home is situated your home could be at risk of all kinds of dangers.

Whether you live in an area where hurricanes and typhoons are regular, or flood and storm, you can find an insurance policy which will give you the financial security that you need.

What Can I Cover?

Home insurance can cover your home the building or bricks and mortar and the contents of your home. Even if you are not the owner, you can get insurance as a tenant or if you live in a condominium.

A Basic Form Homeowner insurance policy (H01) gives you coverage on the following perils:

  • Fire
  • Lightning
  • Windstorm/Hail
  • Vandalism
  • Theft
  • Damage from Aircraft/Vehicles
  • Explosion, Riot or Civil Commotion
  • Smoke
  • Glass Breakage
  • Volcanic Eruption
  • Personal Liability

...Note that flood and earthquakes are not included in a Basic Form Homeowner Policy.

Other types of home insurance include:

  • Broad Form Homeowner (H02)
  • Special Form Homeowner (H03)
  • Renter's Insurance (H04)
  • Premier Homeowner (H05)
  • Condominium Policy (H06)
  • Older Houses (H08)

Each type has its own level of coverage, from personal property (contents of the home) to dwelling.

Why Should I Cover?

Regardless if your home is not worth a great deal, or your belongings are not priced very high, home insurance can deal with the hassle and difficulty that arise from any perils.

Even if you are the parent of small children or pets, you might want to ensure that your home and contents are covered from possible accidental damage that easily occurs. This is especially important if you are only renting the property.

If weather is not something you list among your high perils, theft and burglary could be high risks.
