The Plum Card from American Express OPEN - Business Credit Card
(Which Way To Pay - 12/4/2011)
The Plum Card from American Express OPEN The Plum Card from American Express OPEN is a great rewards card that offers you all its services for an annual fee of $185. This fee is taken care of for the first year however, so you have year one with no added expenses. However, because this is a charge card (we will explain this in a minute) there are no interest rates to be paid, so you are purely looking at a line of credit which can be used for business purposes with no strings attached!
So what is a charge card? Normally, a charge card is different from a business credit card in that its balance (or whatever you spend on the card) must be paid back in FULL each month. There is (usually)no negotiation on this so if you are uncertain of whether you can keep up with repayments of what you spend then this card isnít for you. However, if a charge card is for you, then this could be a fantastic business tool. There is the added incentive that if you pay your balance before 10 days of your statement closing date then you get a 1.5% discount on your purchases. All the more reason to pay on time! One of the things that sets this card apart from its piers is that this card allows you to choose between the aforementioned discount or stretching your pay time frame to TWO months. This is a really good feature and something that would attract people to this card, rather than other charge cards.
The reason people would pick a charge card is often because of the perks that come with the card, namely the rewards system! The first thing you will get are savings on expenses that businesses usually pay out for such as FedEx, Hertz, OfficeMax and OPEN Savings. If you really work out you spend on these savings, a 3%-10% saving can be a really nice addition. You also get tools to manage your spending and business protection.
The smart way to spend for booming businesses!
