How To Extend Your Warranty

Although most electrical items we buy in store come with a warranty, our goods are often only protected for a set period of time. Even the most expensive purchases such as vehicles do not come with a life-time guarantee.  So what do you do if you want extra cover against electrical or mechanical failure? An extended warranty can provide you with coverage beyond the expiration of your standard warranty.

Extended warranties can be purchased for a range of products including appliances, refrigerators, televisions, laptops and computers.  They are most frequently purchased to extend the warranty of cars and other vehicles.

The extra coverage is guaranteed to cover the cost of repair or replacement of the product in the event of a mechanical or electrical fault, however it will not cover general wear and tear, accidental damage or any related loss.

Extended warranties are commonly available from retailers and can even be included in the price of the item. Sometimes you can purchase extended warranty for an additional fee when you buy your product.  Alternatively you can purchase an extended warranty from an independent warranty provider.

When purchasing an extended warranty it is important that you consider the duration of the warranty you require. You should also compare warranty providers to find the best terms and conditions.
